A LOVELY CREATION WORKSHOP

Retreat: 30% of the time spent will be a retreat, enjoying incredible sites of the coastal region, vineyards, eating local produce, fireside chats, and falling in love with the Central Coast.

Workshop: 70% of the week is learning. Limited to 12 students. During this time, we will cover the following topics: How to be different in a sea of photographers, shooting right the 1st time, the power of specializing & unique positioning, designing your business to fit your life (with freedom), sales, pricing, marketing, how to brand yourself, a walk through the images from a full Mike Larson wedding, styled shoots (see last year’s workshop published on Style Me Pretty!), gear, packaging, assistants, associates, speedy systems for editing in Lightroom, simple workflows, countless tips for streamlining everything in your workplace. We'll also cover profitable business systems, and more...

This class is for: Beginner to advanced wedding photographers who want to define their style or energize their style with new inspiration, as well as enjoy a Central Coast retreat!

What to bring: Camera with telephoto and portrait lens(s). Good shoes to get around town, a laptop, iPad, or a notebook and pen, whatever you like for taking notes. Clothing: good walking shoes, clothes that can get wet in the ocean (most likely you'll stay dry!), a date night outfit, what you'd wear to a wedding, and relaxed clothes for lounging around the estate.

Workshop: This is a group workshop, interaction and dialog with other participants is part of the fun. We will have two evening shoots, one being a casual portrait session, and one being a wedding shoot. In the evenings we will come back after the shoot, have a meal together, and continue the friendship and conversation as long as desired.

Post workshop: Past participants have shared that their success from these workshops is amplified by relationships with the other photographers. Collaborating, sharing leads, and challenging each other has been an important part of their experience.


*Ticket sales are non-refundable, but transferable if you find a replacement for your seat!

Lodging: Private room & bath, mixed common area. Main estate house has six rooms and carriage house has two rooms. Rooms will be assigned based on priority of sign-up.
